Community Health & Wellness Fair

On Saturday, February 29, from 9 am–1 pm

Orangewood Campus,

This health fair, sponsored by OPC Presbyterian Women. We will have professionals from ASU Nursing and HHS to do simple screenings for blood pressure, blood sugar, body/mass index, and memory abilities, as well as counseling on managing medications.

DUET, Area Agency on Aging, the local chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, Sage Hospice, the Maricopa County Department of Health, and other providers will have booths/tables in Page Hall with information resources.

In addition, we will be running 4 mini-workshops on nutrition, fall prevention, fitness, and mindfulness for self-care in the Wright Center. We are developing a new OPC brochure to distribute at an Orangewood Welcome table along with orange bags for toting information.

Volunteers-

A small task force is doing the planning and implementation, but we will need volunteers, both men and women, to help with set-up, tear-down, and acting as hosts/hostesses during the event. Please contact Jeanne Matt if you can help! Meanwhile, we are sending publicity to local retirement communities, the local newspaper, and community centers, as well as contacting all the organizations that have activities at OPC. We hope for a big turn-out and that you will be part of it! Please share your ideas and comments with Elizabeth Reifsnider, Cathy Witte, Jennifer Olsen, Hedy Martin, Jeanne Matt, or Phebe Packer when you see them.
